Our Experience
YUNI Environmental conducts wildlife baseline studies and monitoring through field surveys, radio-tagging, remote sensing, camera traps, DNA analysis and random plot sampling.
We coordinate species-at-risk surveys according to provincial or agency standards for project Environmental Impact Assessments.
We believe that for a project to be sustainable it should incorporate the needs of local wildlife populations regardless if they are commonly occurring or rare across the landscape.

What We Do
- Design, develop and implement wildlife baseline studies through field surveys, radio-tagging, remote sensing, camera traps, DNA analysis and random plot sampling.
Design and implement species-at-risk wildlife surveys according to provincial or agency standards.
Conduct multi-species surveys and inventories in compliance with Environmental Impact Assessments protocols.
Complete habitat assessments and impact analyses for species-at-risk wildlife species.
Produce GIS-based species habitat modeling and mapping to guide project infrastructure siting.
Provide wildlife management recommendations and plans for sensitive species or identified habitat features.
Provide mitigation options to minimize project resource development impacts on identified wildlife and their habitats.
Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments and Riparian Area and Streamside Protection Assessments.
Conduct right-of-way pre-clearing bird nest surveys in compliance with CWS regulations.
Conduct nocturnal Marbled Murrelet, bat and songbird migration radar surveys to determine any project wildlife impacts.
- Conduct Northern Goshawk call playback surveys, nesting and foraging habitat assessments, and retention strategies around known nest sites.
