Robert successfully represented clients charged under the Provincial Offences Act and Canadian Criminal Code (summary conviction offences) in the Province of Ontario from 1992 to 1995. Thereafter, Robert developed a passion for helping accident victims receive fair compensation for their injuries and losses.
Robert is a well-respected, experienced and skilled negotiator, who vigorously advocates on behalf of his clients’ claims with respect to Motor Vehicle Accidents, Slip and Falls, Canada Pension Disability Appeals, and Short-Term or Long-Term Disability Benefits.
Robert’s main area of practice pertains to Statutory Accident Benefits’ claims, representing his clients at proceedings before the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT), an adjudicative tribunal that is part of the Safety, Licensing Appeals and Standards Tribunals Ontario (SLASTO). As a P1 Paralegal Licensee, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, Robert is licensed and experienced to provide legal services in Ontario. Robert’s high level of commitment, dedication, professionalism and energy transcends into his work and the successful representation of his clients.
Robert is also a Notary Public (Ontario) and has successfully completed the Family Mediation Training Program through Riverdale Mediation Inc.
Robert and his associate lawyers are members of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and fully support OTLA’s objectives and initiates to improve Access to Justice across Ontario and to promote and lobby for full and fair protection of the rights of those who have suffered injury and losses.

Mr. Galan is a courtroom litigator who provides fair, aggressive and professional representation to individuals who are injured by the negligence of others. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients.
Mr. Galan’s practice focuses primarily on injury insurance claims, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall injuries, long-term disability claims. He is responsible for the firm’s employment law division.
Mr. Galan was awarded the Ontario Scholar Award by the Province of Ontario, prior to attaining his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. He studied Spanish at the University of Malaga and the University of Havana. He further attained a United States and Canadian Law degree at Michigan State University, College of Law and University of Ottawa Law School. At Michigan State University, he was awarded the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for that school’s Competitive Negotiation Class.
Mr. Galan appeared at hundreds of Superior Court matters. He regularly appears at contested and uncontested motions, including the Court of Appeal and as lead counsel at a personal injury Jury Trial. Among his achievements, he won against an insurance company that tried to prevent his client from obtaining compensation when his client was injured outside Canada (Iglesias v. Brown, 2009 CanLII 41360 (ON SC)). The Court ordered the Insurance company to pay the plaintiff’s costs. He won against an insurance company that attempted to transfer his clients’ cases to another jurisdiction to obtain a tactical advantage. The Court ordered the Insurance company to pay Mr. Galan’s costs (Chen et al. v. Ji, 2013 ONSC 7408). He won against an insurance company that attempted to prejudice his clients’ right to a fair trial (Guo v. Ji, 2013 ONSC 7684 (CanLII). The Court ordered the Insurance company to pay Mr. Galan’s legal costs. Mr. Galan’s firm won against a Defendant that improperly delayed his client’s case for compensation (Duong et. al. v. Lopez, CV-11-428239). The Court ordered the Defendant to pay Mr. Galan’s legal costs. Mr. Galan’s firm won another motion where his firm secured a legal cost award against a defendant insurer. Mr. Galan has also won his seventh consecutive Tribunal Hearing. His trial team was successful as an Intervenor when an Insurer sought to potentially prejudice the client at trial (Aviva v. Wawanesa, 2018 ONSC 5779). The Court ordered legal costs against the Insurer (Aviva v. Wawanesa, 2018 ONSC 7030).

Cristina Bourikos is a Partner at Romero Law Firm and a Barrister and Solicitor in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. She attained her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University.
Cristina practices in the area of personal injury law and has experience advocating at motions and hearings before the Ontario Court of Justice, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Small Claims Court, and multiple tribunals across Ontario.
Cristina is committed to strong advocacy and justice. She represents individuals and families through challenging times with skill, compassion, and a trauma-informed approach. She approaches every case with sharp legal strategy, diligence, and care while valuing effective negotiation.
Cristina is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
Karan Singh is a dual-qualified lawyer (Canada and India) with a broad and dynamic background in litigation. He brings a global legal perspective and a client-centered approach to his practice at Romero Law Firm.
Before joining Romero Law Firm, Karan practiced at Peter I. Waldmann Professional Corporation, a civil litigation practice in downtown Toronto. There, he managed a diverse caseload involving personal injury, defamation, tenancy disputes, contractual litigation, and class actions. Karan has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, where he argued contested motions and applications, including an Anti-SLAPP motion, a motion to set aside an administrative dismissal, a motion for a charging order, a tenancy-related application, and an application involving adverse costs insurance. He has also independently led trials before the Small Claims Court, securing favorable outcomes for his clients.
Prior to relocating to Canada, Karan practiced at leading law firms in New Delhi, where he represented multinational corporations and financial institutions in high-value commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings.
Karan earned his integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and was called to the Bar in India the same year. He later completed his LL.M. in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School prior to being called to the Ontario Bar. He is a member in good standing with both the Law Society of Ontario and the Bar Council of India.
Outside of his legal practice, Karan enjoys watching UFC, playing chess, working out, and spending time with friends.

Hassaan Ahmed is a dual qualified lawyer (Canada and Pakistan) with a diverse and extensive background in litigation. He joins Romero Law Firm following his Call to the Ontario Bar.
Prior to joining Romero Law Firm, Hassaan articled with Lee & Associates Personal Injury Law Firm in North York, where he assisted counsel in preparation for mediations, pre-trials, motions, applications and LAT Hearings. He further appeared successfully in motions before the Superior Court of Justice in Ontario.
During his time in Pakistan, Hassaan practiced at a prominent law firm in Karachi, Pakistan where he represented clients and litigated in matters of Civil and Commercial Litigation, Insurance and Re-insurance, Banking and Finance, Family, Corporate and Employment among others.
Hassaan attained his LL.B. from the University of Hull, UK in 2013. He was called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in 2014. While in the U.K he completed an Accredited Mediation Course with the Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). Following this, Hassaan returned to Pakistan and became a member of the Sindh Bar Council, Karachi, Pakistan in 2016. He later attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he completed his LL.M. in Canadian Common Law.
Outside the office, Hassaan enjoys spending time with friends, reading books, playing guitar, going on hikes and learning about our universe.

David Kogan is a dedicated and results-driven lawyer with a strong foundation in negotiation, mediation, and advocacy. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor, where he developed a passion for resolving complex legal disputes through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Prior to law school, David completed his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Law & Society at York University, equipping him with a broad understanding of the relationship between legal institutions and social realities.
Prior to joining Romero Law Firm, David gained valuable experience at one of Canada’s leading personal injury firms, where he honed his skills in client advocacy, case strategy, and negotiation. His background has provided him with a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face when navigating the legal system, and he is committed to delivering practical solutions with compassion and determination.
